The association “Vitoria Regia” was founded by Sueli Menezes which task is to help street children as well as poor and sick children in the Amazon. Street children do exist worldwide. Their presence is no longer limited to the so called Third World countries. However, their number there is exceptionally high and their future completely uncertain. In Brazil alone there are over 20 million children that live on or under the margin of subsistence. Their number keeps on increasing by means of the polarization of poverty and wealth as they pose a challenge to the upcoming century. This non-profit association aims at a creation of a vocational school, vocational training for trade, psychological support for parents and children. The association is put out of service but it is planned to bring it back to live in the future.
